That is indeed a nice looking Ruger takedown 10-22. Looks like a fluted barrel?

Yeah, it's the heavier, fluted barrel. It's fun to shoot, and even more fun to shoot with the Osprey Micro on it.

I'm betting that's not the only trick in it's bag, details please?

I bought the stock heavy fluted barrel takedown. Since then, I made a few small upgrades. I upgraded the bolt release, mag release, recoil buffer, firing pin, and extractor. The sight is a Vortex 4x12.

With the can on it, it's pretty dang quiet.

My first, personally bought AR was from Olympic Arms and only because I couldn't afford another hundred for a Colt.
That was back in 1993, when a Colt was only $600. Strangely, that Oly gun is still in service with a buddy.

Take that M&P, replace the gas block if needed, get a longer rail and shoot the heck out of it.

The first AR I shot was an Olympic Arms. That was mid 90’s. Second was a Colt. So many options with these rifles. Reminds me of build old school 5.0 Mustangs. Just trying to decide how I wanna build it.

    I recommend :)
    Front Fixed site
Magpul Grip, Hand grip and Stock.
Flip up rear sight and a 1x or 2x power sight.

I like the bottom setup in the top picture plus adding the standard Magpul foregrip added like in the 2nd photo.

Don’t quote me on this.. But I believe that is a Free Floating barrel type set up. I couldn’t tell you benifits etc. I have just heard they are $$$$..

My over all opinion on firearms in general and especially AR type firearms is simple is better..

I see esp AR’s with a ton of extras and bells and whistles. But what do you really need? I value a decent Sight and a decent light on the AR. BUT, I want to be able to operate without them. Train train train with fixed/ flip up sights. Practice free handing(not sure the correct term) a light to your AR and when you get good add the extras.

I am also a fan on always carrying a AR with a sling. There are a few good tricks to use the sling for extra stability when shooting.
