    Thank you for your reply, I appreciate feedback and it is what helps me to improve. As @matthew mentioned, it looks like there is a bit of a mixup. The handle cavity comes empty, except for the compass in the buttcap.

    The hollow handle ferro rod is a totally separate unit that is stored on the outside of the sheath. As to the buttcap, I make it out of aluminum by design. As mentioned, it can withstand driving in tent stakes and similar work (it may get scratched, but no problem if it's a user) easily.

    If I were to make the cap out of steel, it would be far too heavy and would destroy the balance of the knife. Below is a video I recently completed that goes into a little more depth. Thank you again for your feedback!
