I have a can of Honest Amish beard balm. I'm not big on the liquorish/anise smell though I do like the consistency. It was barely touched. If someone thinks they would like it and wants to try it I'd be happy to pass it along.

I use a local company here in Erie Pa. called The Bearded Woodsman. They have several "flavors". The oil that I use has Grape seed oil, Hazel nut oil, Almond oil, Hemp seed oil, Cinnamon bark, Vanilla and Birch. The balm has all of those plus beeswax and Shea butter. It is appropriately called "THE RUT" :D. It works well and is does not have an overwhelming scent. I believe that they do interweb sales.

Beard and Company (https://beardandcompany.com) have been awesome to my beard. A lot of other brands were irritating my skin and drying out my beard and I have been on the hunt for more natural type stuff. Couldn't recommend them more to be honest.

I mean I lurk all the time and figured I'd chime in with my recommendation. I understand though.

I like Duke Cannons Best Damn Beard Oil. It has a woodsy scent and my GF likes it.

Tried a couple different ones lately. I had high hopes for the Body Shop Cedar and Sage beard oil as I quite like their other shaving products, but really didn’t care for the lingering smell.

Settled on Proraso Wood and Spice. Nice woodsy smell and not overpowering.

Jojoba oil, argan oil, and chamomile oil are common ingredients in men's beard oil products. If you have the ingredients, you can make them yourself. The unscented beard oil you mentioned is fragrance free beard oil. Similarly, some beard oils have fragrance and some people don't like them. For resolving dry and itchy skin, beard oil is definitely one of the good choices.

I like “ bad ass beard care” there wax and oils are great. I use the lady’s man scent I highly recommend them. They do trial packs so you can figure out the scent you like also.

I've used a bunch of different stuff over the years. 1740 beard balm, Rocky Mountain Barber Company, Mountaineer Brand, Smokey Mountain Beards, and Grunt Goat Tactical (local soap maker, odd name).

So far my favorite is the Smokey Mountain Beards Cumberland scent, or Bootlegger scent.
