I use my 6 as machete, a spoon, a nail file, and just about anything else you can imagine... And some stuff ya cant.
I am actually a big fan of them, the stock scales work just fine but the TKC Scales fit my hand much better and feel a lot more comfortable for me. I think they are definitely worth the money and The Knife Connection is great to deal with!!
Thanks. I put the TKC on my 4 years ago because I didn't but was curious how the 6 ones were because the 6 handle is much more comfortable than the 4 handle. I might have to try them. I agree on TKC being great to deal with. All my ESEEs have come from there.
Esee 6 next to the rib bone of a bison. The lower half of the skeleton is in the stream. The rest is at the top of the pic in the grass. Never did find the skull.
Figure I should put this in here also. One thing I really like about the 6 is it does small light machete work like snap cuts on briars and small twigs and sapling while out hunting Or scouting or camping and hiking where a Junglas would be impractical to carry around. Also the ability to baton kindling and alike. Paired with a pocket knife or small fixed blade to dress out animals it’s a great knife.
Hi there! My new flat dark earth 6 on a recent fishing / camping trip. It really cuts amazingly well for a large knife and has a perfect balance. I really like it and actually replaced my Lionsteel M7 with the 6. I have had an Izula, 3, 4, Laser Strike but so far I like the 6 the best. However I am waiting on a new 4 clip point, to be my fixed blade EDC companion to the G45. It will replace my Swamp Rat Rodent Solution as a bit larger blade. Cheers!
Just cuz it should be here too. I posted this in other threads but the 6 is so awesome!!! The hike today sucked bad cuz of mosquitoes but went anyway. Hate summer!!!!
Did some batoning with the 6 yesterday - to make a fire board for bow drill tries. I did not noticed that it had a rather nasty knot - until I looked at the blade and saw that it began bending Luckily I had a wooden wedge prepared and used it to free the blade and continued to split the wood. The 6 went back to straight as an arrow the second I got it out of the wood. It was quite small bending, but this is still impressive for me. Absolutely proves the great HT these knives have.
Yeah! It is long time since I have used a nice carbon steel knife like the 6, so I had forgotten how flexible it can be. Now I remember that the same thing happened with a BK7 multiple times without issues. The last larger knife that I used was a Lion Steel M7 - 0.22 '' thick all the way up to the tip, thick saber grind, Sleipnir around 60 HRC - no bending or flexing with that beast, it was like a crow bar But it did not cut that well, so I got the 6.
A new edge on the 6, with the Norton India and WD40. This time it is the same width on both sides of the blade I will have to do the 4 again these days, as this one got much better and motivated me to re-do the 4...
