Those of you with the TKC handles on your Izzys , how do you like them? Does the contour affect the way it feels a lot?
I picked up this Damascus Izula from SMKW this weekend. This will become half of my EDC rotation along with my James Gibson neck knife. I wrapped it with some veg tan leather cordage and then gave that a beeswax coating. It's off now to get a raptor kydex sheath. I'm going to square a portion of the spine. I'll post up a thread once I get the sheath situated.
I really like my TKC's. I used the Izzy for some years with the oem micarta and it was fine but the new scales took it to a whole new level of comfort and usability IMHO.
Hey @kyhunt I've only had this knife for two days but... I love the TKC G-10 scales. They feel great in my hand and the craftsmanship and fit is perfect. I was on the fence about buying them, they cost almost as much as the knife. But I'm very happy that I bought them, IMHO they are worth the price. They turn a great little knife into a perfect little knife. They do add some weight. The scales & hardware weigh in at 35 grams. (That 1.25 ounces American) pushing the balance point back on the handel. I'm a backpacker who obsess over weight. But they feel so good in hand that I'll gladly carry the extra weight. And that's coming from someone that cuts all the tags off gear. The tags don't weigh much but they weigh something.
Thanks. My order came yesterday. After getting my wife's Izula set u with the scales I was pleasantly surprised by how they felt. To the point that in the future I might just have to get another Izula and out them on.
@SEMO I think I saw this pic on IG today..... be sure to tag us (@eseeknives) and I will make sure to follow and share!
