Hey all, I almost put this in the survival section for obvious reasons, but here it is. I also thought there was a thread for this, but could not find anything. Turns out my cuisinart drip coffee maker died over the weekend. Super slow now, water seems to be burning off, always sounds empty. It’s been a good maker for about 7 years now, but looking to move ahead to a fine quality drip style. What do you recommend? Not interested in French presses or grinding tbh. I know it tastes good, but I’m lazy.
Have you tried cleaning it ? 1/2 pot of cleaning vinegar 1/2 pot of water mixed, run it half empty and stop and let it set for 15 minutes and then restart and let it finish and finish up running a few pots of water through it. Also if you can get into the water reservoir clean that out with a paper towel. I have to do my coffee maker about twice a year, you can't believe the sludge that builds up inside.
We have a Keurig which is nice for a quick and cheap cup of Dunkin Donuts joe. I also have a little Nespresso to add a booster shot to my regular coffee. If I was going to buy something today, it would be the Ninja Coffee Bar. Couple of friends have them and they’re freakin legit.
chemex pour over makes the best hot coffee this side of a press. these days i cold brew mine and warm it up if i want it hot. easy, no fancy stuff required, and the coffee tastes way better.
I know you said you’re not interested in a press, but we’ve moved to a french press. We’ve had a keurig for a few years, and just didnt realize how bad it tasted vs. a fresh grind in a press. Nice to free up the counter space too.
Im partial to the Bailetti stove top espresso makers. Full grind portion for espresso, or if i want coffee i use a single tablespoon of grinds .
https://www.cnet.com/products/bunn-mycafe-mcu/review/ We just got this one and are really happy so far. Can still use k cups but can also do ground coffee as a single serving.
I make coffee/espresso with an Aeropress every day. I'm lazy too but It's not much work and the coffee is really good. or if you want something easy try this: It's a Vietnamese coffee maker, that's what I searched to find it and I'm sure it has another name. Just fill it up with grinds, pack it, and pour hot water. no need to paper filters
Y'all and your fancy coffee makers When I'm in a hurry I just take a big pinch of coffee grounds and stick it in my cheek and go. Bubba style coffee press
