I haven't abandoned this thread. I still owe an explanation of my choice of 9.

I'm thinking about a video. Easier than writing all those words.

But I'm caught up in a video-based fundraising campaign to finance my work, so ...

... I'll get back to you.

Updates can be offered 5 msec after an original post.

This policy clarification comes from far up in the ESEE (forum) office.

I am prohibited from naming names, however.

Which do you prefer for making feathersticks - the G30 or the SP-01?

    Ruger for batoning, I assume.

I'm thinking the G31 may be best for feather sticks. The CZ may also work well for batoning.... it's the heaviest at 41oz VS the SP101 at 27oz.

Hahahaha ... only on ESEE forum.

Glad to see some life (and humor!) still in this thread. Been meaning to post a family pic of my fav 9 blades -- which haven't changed a bit since I started this party -- but just been busy with other stuff.

Guess I'll have to find a place for my slingshot/catapult (.44 ball) in my line up if I'm going to keep up with @Zeek.

I’m not 100% sure I still have 9. I bet I do but I have to check. I’ll take a family pic soon.

If you have a Busse you don’t need the other 8.

Thinking about it, I was wrong.

Busse doesn’t count in the 9 because they have never been used for actually cutting anything.

    Cool game. I'll play.

If we are talking all blades for all purposes (saws, axes, multitools, etc... bushcraft, camping, hunting, fishing, EDC, utility, etc...) then my list looks something like this (no particular order):

    1) ZT0562CF (heavy duty EDC)
    2) Bark River Gunny Hunter (general purpose fixed blade)
    3) Gransfors Bruk Small Forest Axe
    4) BOREAL 21 saw
    5) Swiss Army Farmer (super woods utility)
    6) LT Wright GNS scandi (dedicated bushcraft knife)
    7) Spyderco Dragonfly (ultralight EDC)
    8) Cold Steel Mini Pendleton Hunter (Fishing, hunting, etc...)
    9) Leatherman Wave (around town utility)

These aren't necessarily my 9 most used or my very favorite 9 (which would be too heavily weighted towards bushcraft belt knives), but rather my top 9 tools to give me the best coverage for all uses. (Also, the list can change by the hour)
