I am looking for traditional leather slings for some of my older rifles. Closest thing I've found is this one from Nohma Leather. It seems to be what I'm looking for but thought I would post here before buying it to see if I am overlooking something... thanks.
I went through this very thing when i wanted a leather sling for my .375. I ended up finding several "Armish Leather" sellers on ePrey. The one I picked and received was really well made and finished. Not overly expensive either.
Maybe some of leather workers will comment here. Ive never made one. @Colton @Wildbill247365 @Wolfman Zack @Grog @mtngoat @SEMO are a few i know of.
Yeah, thanks... great idea. I actually thought of posting something in the leather making thread, or WTB.
Perhaps you might consider a military sling as made for the 1903 Springfield or M1 Garand. Such slings are highly adjustable, and still available from various makers.
Great bang for the buck Turner Saddlery slings. 1903 style you can run it as a cart strap or a proper sling. For under $100 I think these are hard to beat in a quality leather sling.
That Nohma Leather sling looks good. It may be difficult to find anything at a better price. I would stop by Lowe's and pick up a couple of brass chicago screws. I don't like my slings opening up on the adjustment end.
You might take a look @ Brass Stacker slings as well. Just got one for my Henry and the quality it excellent. https://brassstacker.com/Rifle-Slings/
+1 on the Turner Saddlery 1903 sling if you're into getting "slung up" and acting like a real rifleman. My favorite though is just a simple carry sling from Andy Langlois of Ching Sling fame. I have two of his Ching Slings and they are great shooting slings if you don't mind puting a third sling stud on your rifle. I haven't tried the Rhodesian Sling but if might be a good option too. https://www.andysleather.com/collections/slings
As a man of his word, I ordered the sling this evening. brassstacker.com/No-Drill-Harnessed-Rifle-Sling-HENRY.html I also put a Hawke 3-9X40 on it and ordered a hammer extension.
