My uncle and I did about 3 hours of riding today. A good bit of fire road but we got into a little real dirt and mud too. Sand (especially deep) absolutely sucks and it's not just my tires. Everyone I talked to that rides agreed. These Trek Riders are pretty awesome for what they are. They're definitely loud on the street but they handled everything off-road today really well. If they go 5k miles I'll buy another set.
My Smurf bike with my buddy's Triumph Street Triple RS this morning. We rode about 30'sh miles of twisties by lunch time...Stopped-by a bike shop and managed not to spend anything on more gear - success
Sand isn't bad once you get used to it. Just have to stay on the throttle and light on the bars. It is also nice and soft for when you fall off. Now moon dust is some nasty ****. That stuff is like baby powder, it is soft and slick.
I was given that tip before we started riding and it works for sure. The problem I was having is that there was a lot of tracks all crossing each other and this front tire is real wide and was getting caught like a sail in the wind. The real wide tread pattern of the rear tire was helping to push me along like a sand paddle though.
Just heard from bike shop today, says it should only cost me $100. But everything will be right. Really Gotta sell some knives now.
Thanks Wolf She’s a 2005 Night Train, 95 ci Stage 4. Fully customized from head to toe as you can see. Let me tell ya. The Hooker Header has a very distinct sound from any Harley you’ll hear.
Back in 2009 when I was driving over the road and making bookoo$$ I almost had this exact bike, someone else bought it the day before I got to the dealer Basically my dream Harley, was going to order a new set of tins from HD with the same paint job except replace the gold leaf with silver leaf. I like black n'chrome with a touch of red Till that day comes I'll just have to be content with my 2007 Vmax
Mine is pretty quick for a Softail. I was actually pretty surprised at the torque and throttle response. It is suped up. Cams, performance clutch, CNC ported heads, 95ci big bore kit at the time. Hooker header as mentioned and S&S breather. It was performance tuned but I wanna get it Dyno’d again. My suspension is stiffened up as well. But it is adjustable
I want a Street Glide in a bad way but I need another R1 first. The wife approves of the R1 and the Supermoto sharing the garage so we’ll see what spring brings. @Bcamos was there to witness her saying I’m getting another R1
Managed to ride the bike to work today. Just under 60 and plenty of sunshine. Doesn't get much better. 20180227_153917 by D Hunley, on Flickr
