I got the oldest granddaughter one of those round tipped opinels in pink for her featherstick knife.
    I carry a #8 in my M3 medical bag.

They are nothing but cheap, functional folders. Sorta like the Hi-Point of pocket knives...

I love seeing a basic, no nonsense, functional blade turned into a work of art.

Darksidedenny probably modded a normal Opinel model into that. That guy is SUPER talented.

My opinel is my dedicated food knife. It is great in the kitchen and excellent at the table.

If climate change causes year round morel growth, I'm heading out back to start burning stacks of tires.

Received mine and the kiddos first Opinels today :). I end up with the Garden Opinel 8 and the Kiddo with the "My First Opinel" 7 with rounded tip.

My initial impression is they are mean little slicers :). I don’t think I have had that thin of a blade on a folder well ever...

The Opinel Garden I really like the feel and the size initially but will likely order a size or 2 bigger in the future due to hand size. Also I noticed while there is a lanyard/ wrist strap hole it is too small for most cordage or string I have around..

With the "My first Opinel " my one big observation is the lack of a lanyard hole.. I will need to see what I can do about drilling one as I would really like a wrist strap for Kiddo use.. Other then that it actually appears to be sharp all the way to the top of the rounded tip. I wasn’t really expecting that but I think it will be good .. If not i might do a quick dulling if it becomes to dangerous...

Will hopefully be able to give a little more feedback after this weekend :)
