To Jeff's point I agree wholeheartedly. The Black Oxide coating wears really well. Below is Patricks 0001 PR4, the first one off the assembly line (notice it's NOT in a shadow box).....the ONLY other Black Oxide knife that has more use is @Expat clever...both have "seasoned" very well and look better with age IMO. That is Reubens well worn RB3 (uncoated) in the pic as well.
I will take one of each thank you. Jeff has my shipping details from last time he sent The Jet to take me to Vegas..!
Not that most care what I think, and no offense meant, but I was never overly crazy about the Camplore logo. The ESEE logo looks much better, imo.
If a 6HM in Black Oxide was offered...well, lets say I would have more than one !! Who am I kidding, if the 4HM became an offering I would as well....
Nope. Only shipping ESEE logos on knives now. I'm sure some of the dealers have some old stock though.
As long as it’s an Esee blade I really don’t care what the logo is. Will kinda miss the skull and crossbones though.
Dang love those black oxide 3/4. I also should have read this tread before starting the black oxide thread
I think the black oxide is a fantastic idea. Wondering why the skull logo is being canned though. I thought it was cool on all the Sabre grind knives.
We're doing away with the skull logo on knives to lessen the confusion between the knife company and the training company. The skull logo is the logo for our training and adventure side. Over the years we have had a ton of new ESEE users asking if the skull logo was actually an ESEE product, so best to just re-brand and make it all less confusing.
The logo design was never the selling point for me, but ironically the 4 esee's I have still are skull logo models. I never realized until this thread that it was just the saber grind models.
