watch this video and look at the cleaver he uses.........its thin....less than 1/8" i think....... I'd buy one if you guys made it.
I think it is closer to 1/4". Pause it at 1:43 or 2:57 and look at the spine. It does look like it thins out a good bit though.
I like that method of preparation, with the 3 legged pan ring and the cutting table in front of the fire. Really cool.
I found them using Google, 2 sizes (weights?) at 5/32nds or 3/32nds. Not terribly expensive. I think I'd still prefer the square straight shape of the Liberteriat for my kitchen work tho.
yea i think your right...i thought it was thin all the way from spine to blade.......sounds thin when he chops and scrapes.
Interesting dispute about their knives. http://almazanknives.com/ vs. http://www.almazankitchen.com/almazan-kitchen-knives/ Not much for details for the knives from either one, but the "original" appears to be a laminate.
I like the curved spine on the Almanzan....if you flip it upside down, it is a wonderful scraper or food moving tool on the curved sides of a wok....
I saw that shape use too. People mod machetes all the time, I was going to put a dull spatula type edge on the front of my Libertariat just for cooking. You could do the downward curve on one as well but I think you'd lose the hole in the front By doing so.
It is a novel idea but I do not do facebook and like my Libertariat in the kitchen. The more I use it the more uses I find.
