    Yeh, it's amazing to me how well leather will form and give you good retention. I never would have thought so until trying my hand at wet forming a sheath. Good work man!

    I used really hot water, I learned today from a wise man (@Mike Perrin) that if you use hot water it pulls out the oils in the leather and make it brittle. Hence the broken leather.

    Yes sir it is. I had to re-dye the sheath because our tent leaked right on top of it last time my wife and I were out. It washed some of the dye away, so I picked up a bottle of Feibings, or something like that, and dyed it the color you see now!

    I have a question for the leather guys here. If I use leather sheen on a sheath can the owner then go back and wax the sheath?

    Leather sheen is normally a type of acrylic, and will make it damn near impossible to wax it without completely removing the sheen with a solvent.
