Make Se7en do it in Alberta, then. All kidding aside, I'm sure a newly graduated law student would be very happy to help, especially for a smallish fee while awaiting bar exam results. The Law Society of Alberta has a contact form at https://lsa.memberpro.net/main/body.cfm?menu=contact and can likely connect you with a lawyer who does small business startups. Many will offer a free referral or consultation. A truly good lawyer will tell you what you need to do, what you can do on your own, what you can't do on your own and tell you to come back when you really need help.
I worked with a lady whose father had been a lawyer. As a young attorney he had helped many small companies get up and running. In exchange he was given a small interest in the company, the number I remember was around 5%. When he reached retirement age he was receiving around $30,000 annually from those companies that had survived that long. Not a lot of money in the scheme of things, but it was a lot more than social security would pay out. Point is that a young lawyer might do your legal work on the startup for a piece of the future action.
@AddictedToSteel makes some excellent points; there are quite a few young attorneys that would like to build a client base, keep busy, and pay rent and "big to you, small to them" matters like this are a wonderful loss leader. After all, they'd hope your business will grow, which means contract review, employment law, tax advice, your estate planning and business succession planning, and the odd dispute with suppliers, cease and desist letters for trademark infringement, and all the things that go along with helping a healthy business get started from the ground up. You'd be a worthwhile investment, certainly. Don't be shy about reminding attorneys about those future billable hours when you discuss current fees.
really appreciate all the input . not sure if @Se7eN is awake still (dude works insane early and long hours), but I know he appreciates the info too!
Since I can’t make fire from sticks or do anything more productive than become grizzly bear poop while camping, I’m glad I can contribute something useful to your shovel project.
Would certainly get rid of the “new member smell” as someone so kindly mentioned in the Introduce Yourself thread. Besides, no grizzly would eat me if I have pepper spray and a bell!
I spritzed my chili once with bear spray. Sprayed the back of a spoon very lightly and stirred the chili with it. pain central.
I use pepper spray when i'm in the bush for bear protection...It's called 3" 000 buckshot alternating with 3" slugs.
Depends on how bad you are at picking lead chunks out of your fresh gunpowder ground bear-meat chili.
First prototype on my end getting cut with the angle grinder right now. TOPS is gonna be all over this..........its a Smatchet/ shovel beast hybrid on steroids.
heat treated some steel C (U?) channel for the handle, heated to cherry, quenched in ATF and reheated......clamped it in the vice and put all my 200 LBs on it.......slight flex, no bending. ........ when cord wrapped there is 1/4" deep x 16" long x 3/4" wide storage slot for survival gear under the cord wrap.
Careful, when banned you are not on the outside looking in, they cover the windows after the doorknob hits you in the butt.
