Since Esee isn't interested, and others are, we will be changing the title of this thread in the next day or so.

can this get moved to the DIY FORUM?

Thanks Jeff! we did not want to clutter up the Esee knives thread with a non Esee thingy.

I'm down for the count for a bit, (back injury) but @Se7eN should have a prototype out soon. We're exploring several options. :)

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you two come up with. There's a special place in my heart reserved for something that can make a grave, and then fill it.

This thing is going to be absolutely insane from the specs y'all have in mind. Though to be fair, if you told me that folks were going to start taking to the woods with overbuilt meat cleavers, I'd have laughed in your face a while back.

Overbuilt shovels are on the lower end of the industries ridiculousness, so I'd be amazed if you didn't have any supporters once there's a physical product to oogle over.

In Italy they have a family of tools known as manaressi (singular manaresso) that are literally woods cleavers and they've been around for hundreds of years. :)

My problem is that I bought a heavy duty bomb proof shovel one time. I learned real quick that lighter is better with shovels.

But like anything else though, it's a balancing act. I thought I was real smart one time "No, I'm not lugging around a giant shovel." I didn't feel very smart when I was on hands and knees, trying to dig a pit with a glorified spoon.

I'm not sure I agree with Bushman or Se7en that their idea is the most practical option, but it's at least pretty awesome.

    The "7/5" Terminator song..........

we found a Manufacturer, with stamping, bending, forging , heat treating capacities. A North American CO.

lots of hurdles to go thru, its a year long process, we will need to Patent our final design before submitting, and there willbe some lawyer fees........but.....they love inventors! 80% of their products are designed by Inventors and like minded up starts/ronins/mavericks like @Se7eN & I.
