I guess you can gift gifts if you want. I won’t be party to such nonsense.

The ultimate though is this particular gem that has been offending my ears with alarming frequency lately: dethaw.

What!? I always respond with, “So you want to freeze it?”

Merry Christmas to everyone, even the grammatically inept.

    Knifes...!!!

Or "I want to sale this..." and in the same line "For Sell" !

Or...when vetting reports ... "At about (around) .." Listen idiot it is either "At 1pm" or "About 1pm" not "Exactly somewhere near give or take a little 1pm" .... I nearly vomited when one of our proforma reports was created as an auto-fill document on our system start with "At about..."

When he chooses to be, Expat is a gifted writer.

    (Ooooh, an adverb form!)

Now, let's work on our conjugation for the verbs give and gifted.

Give, gave, given (as past participle)

Gift, gaft, giften (reminiscent of the Middle English/Norse origins of the word)

No, Stone, just no. I've always hated Beowulf, Canterbury Tales, and anything in that genre or anything preceding it.

Literature started with The Pilgrim's Progress and ended with The Old Man and the Sea. Outside of that, nothing else matters, and what if it did, as the curmudgeon poet, Mr. Mellencamp once queried.

So we should review Beowulf, just so we understand your hatred.

As for me: Cliff Notes got me through.

Robert Ruark wrote a lot AFTER Old Man and the Sea.

Actually, that’s a very good point. Although, not by many years and he fancied himself a latter day Hemingway, walking in his footsteps every chance he got, including using Papa’s PH in Africa.

So I will amend my statement, but only with an asterisk, since Robert is so Ernest.

    Capestick?

I was a big fan of Skeeter Skelton. I had a conversation with Bill Jordan once. We both thought that Skeeter Skelton could have written the proverbial great American novel.

“ Touch Base” Excuse me but I don’t want your base to touch mine, I gifted it to you so you can have your own.

Don't ask me how I know this. I just do.

    But this seems relevant here.

It has to do with the flatness of Earth,
and the fact that it's not level.

    Or something ...

This guy looks so familiar from this forum.

    Who is he?

At around 2 today I tried to reach out to a friend, just to touch base, whilst sharpening my knifes and listening to Nickleback.

Flexx gifted the music to me, but that is irregardless to this post, and I’m sure you could care less.

    I care more.

But @Expat will not be happy about the 'gifted' aspect.
