It's been....a mixed bag. The blade is good. Relatively easy to sharpen and a useful blade shape. The walk and talk on the mechanism is so so, not very snappy at all. I like the handle, I think it is mainly that I might not be super big on the slip joints. My D2 mini grip ends up in my pocket 90 percent of the time, so this one has sort of been relegated to more formal dress occasions. I've cut more cigar ends with it than anything else lol.
My favorite carry slip joint was designed by Tony Bose for Case. It's the Sowbelly Stockman and I've got a couple. Fit and finish on these always seems to be a cut above the average for Case these days.
Mine is getting very gritty feeling and difficult to open. What can I put on it to smooth it out that won’t just attract more dirt?
I’ve recently been having good luck with Ballistol (let it soak then wipe down very well). Did this with a gritty MooreMaker stockman, and it worked OK.
