I stripped the paint off the blade of my 6hm with paint stripper. I masked the handle so the powder coat remains under the micarta It looks like maybe Esee sand blasts the metal before, or some kind of etching before they powder coat , but I'm not sure what their process steps are My Beckers just after you strip you can tell its bare metal and you can see the tool marks. Esee looks like they sand blasted first. I think I read others wet sanded or used a red scotch bad after stripping. Maybe one of the owners can tell what they do before powder coating I'll post a Picture later . Its soaking with another stripper coat to get a little residue paint off
What no pictures? What's wrong with you? Teasing us like that, that's like slapping a Chastity belt on a sheep and parading it around in front of us
Yeah, I have no idea what it is, but its there. 250 or 400 grit sandpaper takes it to bare metal very quickly.
This is just stripped with Klean Strip Premium and a plastic scraper only Looks and feels like Esee sand or bead blasts before powder coat. I was thinking of doing a hot apple cider dip. It would probably need to use some red scotchbrite on it first to clean it better . Or just leave it as is and use it. I electro etched the logos This BK15 got a Hot apple cider dip
Think Ill do some touch up with some more stripper and scrub it some more I could polish the metal, work up to 2000 grit wet or dry , but I'm not going to, its a user not a shelf queen
