That looks more like Bushy's camp when he goes away for a few minutes and the sasquatch throws a doll on it in effigy

I did a fair amount of rock climbing in my 40's and 50's -- got to the game late -- and have watched a ton of videos about climbing.

Never once have I ever seen anything even remotely like this.:confused::oops:

And from there, she does ... what, exactly? Looks like the next significant move is straight down. Hope them nuts hold.

I mean, this has to be some kind of ... California rock yoga.

I'll bet she's got yogurt in her chalk bag.

Here's Expat doing a 5.7 free solo speed climb in Yosemite. 400' in just over 4 min. Not bad.

Maybe they just rotated pic and all her gear is ultra lightweight gravity defying perhaps? 20171005_182051.jpg Or could be this pic was snapped right at the moment of impact?

Last night in my pre-sleep stupor, I made a minor but significant error.

This morning, looking more closely with an analytical eye -- trying to figure out WTF she's doing there, how she got there, and where she hopes to go -- I see she's not using nuts at all, but friends (SLCD's); her sling is full of them, including one that appears to be 5" - 6".

No nuts or hexes would work in that expanding crack system between the main wall and a (large) "flake" -- they can weigh hundreds of tons, like the ones that fell and killed people (at least one) a few days ago in Yosemite.

Hypothesis: she got to that part from behind her -- to her left, basically in that image -- and has wedged herself up into the crack. I'm guessing she had to have gotten her leg up there first -- and note there's a friend hanging above her toe. But her weight is mostly hanging on a heel-hook; look hard, you can see how it works (her toe is jammed on the other side of the crack).

From there, seems to me, she's gonna either need some magic or a jet pack.

But I'd love to know if she succeeded. If so, you guys should try to recruit her as an ESEE student and teacher. :)

    OK, next climbing lesson.

Chris Sharma putting up the 5.14d Dreamcatcher in BC. @Bushman5 lives near it.

Note his use of heel hooks, his learning how to "stick the rail (ledge)",
and the importance of that big jug at the end.

<laughs> Neither are mine, which are teflon-coated plastic anyway.

I never got past 5.9. 5.10 and above was too vertical and the hold/foot placements were too small. Nubbins, they called them. Takes strong fingers and a lot of training. Just wasn't that committed. Once you get to 5.12, you've added impossible stuff against gravity, including those overhangs -- roof, where you have to be a spider to get around and up.

Still, I enjoyed watching the pros, and Sharma is one of those.
