I've always liked the history of the Hudson Bay camp knife, what are your thoughts on the Condor version?
It's a great large camp knife. Not too big, not too small, good knuckle clearance for cutting against anvil surfaces like cutting boards. Personally I think the sheath is quite nice. Handle is fairly flat, which is good if you're looking for a low profile, but not as hand-filling as something like the Moonshiner.
Thinning and refining the factory edge down to 6µ followed by power stropping with chromium oxide and then hand stropping. If needed, we'll also grind the ricasso back just a little so that the base of the edge can contact a cutting board.
I received my knife, shaving sharp. I hope to do some woods processing and whatever else needs doing. I may let my wife use it in the kitchen. I'm trying to work up a sheath design, the supplied sheath is good heavy leather, just right handed. I'll probably make a couple of sheaths for differant needs. Thank you for excellent service!
Happy to help! Sorry it took me longer than anticipated to get it out to you--it's been a busy summer!
