Have not used the dyneema, but regular paracord doesn't provide much grip on the spindle. The leather is definitely better for that.

No dynema shoe strings, bracelets etc! It's supposed to be hard. :)

Relatively speaking, how many times have you successfully started a bow drill fire with vine/bark/grass/Etc cordage?

Very few with a whole lot of breakage. Not saying you can't use shoe strings etc. Just don't want frank showing up with a sweater knitted from 1,000 feet of paracord. You have to keep an eye on him!

I have had zero success with anything made or scrounged.
Frank keeps a survival kit hidden deep in his beard. Search him good!

Field search is better than a body search.

She was waffling between her alumni three and the hest. Finally, she said last week that her hest was "field survival proven" and she wanted to bring that. Ill be sending it to @Allen Morrison for some special kydex work. The leather is pretty but not so good when dealing with fishguts and weather.

Have you tried doing any wax treatment to leather yet? I am totally sold on it, makes the leather completely water resistant, and keeps smelly stuff from penetrating the leather and making it smell bad lol. Makes it really tougher then kydex and if formed right locks the knife in sheath like kydex does.

I have a waxed RB3 sheath if you want to try it out, or I can send you some bees wax to try your hand at it. I had to put a lanyard on my RB 3 just to get it out of the sheath at first after wet coming and wax.

Just tried with jute twine. Never made an ember. Never made smoke. Jute broke or slipped. No good runs at all. Thank god for debris shelters.
