Looking for a good fitting ESEE 3 leather pocket sheath. I've looked around but can't seem to find much. Any ideas or custom makers ? If you have one please post a pic. Thanx in advance...
Been looking at a Knives Ship Free Pocono but not sure how it will fit. Says it's 5in.deep 1.5 wide .should be ok but I don't want the knife buried in it but still have descent retention. Has anyone tried this sheath ?
Rednose Leather, Wildbill, and Strigidae all on this forum. RL just posted that he is not taking orders for a while; WB it away on a family emergency; and Strigidae is too busy moderating the forum these days for leather.
RLO Custom Leather has made some great sheaths for some of my Fiddleback Forge knives too. Don't have any for my Esee's though. Don't think he's on this forum.
I had no idea these existed... I have several for pistols that I pocket carry and never thought about a pocket sheath for a fixed blade. This is awesome, thank you for posting this.
Strong recommendation for @Wildbill247365 for a pocket sheath. I have one that has been wet formed and hot waxed that is better than kydex and has a retention pop during insertion
I could do a pocket sheath for you any style you want for $40.00 I would need you to send me your 3 though. Would take 2 days to make and return to you.
Unless its custom somehow, you can use one of my 3s to do the sheath if its wanted. I have stock, LMF and extended TKC scales. No compact TKCs for the 3.
They are good sheaths, just make sure your wet forum it or they can give you troubles. Wax treatment makes them awesome and water proof.
No. I haven't wet formed before. Just looking around on the Net . But it seams like everyone does it different . Some soak in water some wet with a sponge. Some dry with knife in sheath others don't. Any help would be appreciated...
I like to use a spray bottle with very warm water. Place the knife in the sheath spray it till you can feel the leather kinda give and stretch to the knife. Just use your fingers or hand use anything hard and you will leave creases and marks in the leather. I do one side then the other and then just keep repeating till it takes and holds the form of the knife. I like doing it this way so I don't have a soggy wet sheath for several hours lol. Let it dry completely. If need to you can repeat as many times as you need till it holds the form but once usally does the trick.
