So what exactly happened to the spine of the E5? I can imagine an edge fracture if I really try, but what could have been done to spine that left the rest of the knife intact?

In spite of an oppressive number of laws, the human spirit is strong, and yearns to break free from the constraints of societal norms and behavior....................which sometimes leads to drunken power-tool operation. This is fine by me, (especially when caught on video) as long as there's no "failure" claim against ESEE.

I'm much too cynical and jaded to work for ESEE's warranty department.

man it's real simple....we don't take the bad decisions of others personally in regards to warranty....you just can't.... WE made the warranty so it's up to US to make the choice, each day to do what WE SAID WE would do...the actions of others means very little...

In truth, we have VERY few instances where we feel as though someone is taking advantage of us....seriously...70-80% of our warranties are BROKEN TIPS>......let me say that again for the CHEAP SEATS>.......>

I post some images simply to stir up the conversation...but it does get boring looking at knife after knife that are all 1/4" - 3/4" shorter.....ALL broken in the same spot, doing the same thing,........prying.

For me personally and every one knows I mod all my knives, and it's a lot of work doing it. That's why I don't do anything I know could jeapordize breaking it, within reason. Meaning, I'll baton, chop, cut and other normal things, but I'm not going to pry or take it to a grinder. It's a tool that I need to rely on and not going to take a chance on it breaking in the field. With that said, a broken tip can easily be fixed and functional again. Jmo here.

There is a joke about being in my teens and it being just the tip……but you know….rising about it and all.

I applaud you guys for warrantying other people being dumb. I can own a tip breakage as well. Literally doing something that my head was saying don’t but being too lazy to get the right tool till that moment I heard “tink”.

I still laugh at the couple of tantrums I have seen here over “rust” and throwing, epic epic stuff.

So this happened today. Some of you know I have a friend, Harold, who's a Vietnam Air force vet and I did that Air Force esee 4 for him a while back. Anyway, he stops by today and hands me this. He bought it from me about 4 years ago but he's only used it once I guess and said he has no use for it. I asked him what he wanted for it and offered to buy it back but he said "nothing, a gift for a friend", shook my hand, turned around and got in his car. Left me speechless. 20220416_103650.jpg

What an amazing day. Good spot, great company and amazing knives! I only used the knives with the scales I made, and they held up great, including batoning with them. I wasn't going to baton with the xancudo but it held up very well 20220418_155724(0).jpg 20220418_161426.jpg 20220418_161432.jpg 20220418_163251.jpg 20220418_163940.jpg 20220418_164042.jpg 20220418_164414.jpg 20220418_165655.jpg 20220418_191407.jpg 20220418_164602.jpg

Here are my precious Esee children!

    upload_2022-6-29_11-25-24.png

My big Ole thumper Junglas, my camping and hiking E6 that has a ferro rod holder and a holder for my Esee AH‐1 Arrowhead on the sheath, my Beast shtf, break glass incase of the Apocalypse E5 I just got, my bushcraft E4 also with ferro rod holder on sheath, and finally my Candiru neck knife I have no matter what I'm doing in the outdoors.
I do have a few knives that have special meaning, but my Esees are my serious knife choice for hunting, camping or carrying with me in my bag every day.
