if anyone has an extra they don't want, I know a guy looking to replace the one he lost while hunting over the weekend.
(not me - and I didn't loan him mine)

Got this AGK several months ago, got to use it for the first time today. Made quick work of this guy. Absolutely amazing blade.

Anyone ever had an issue with the thickness of this knife for any animal processing tasks? I tend toward thinner knives for hunting purposes, though I suppose it doesn’t really matter for field dressing. How’s the tip for making incisions at the anus? Looks a little blunt/thick for the task to me.

Always been interested in this knife, but the thickness has kept me away. With the S35vn version coming out, it’s got me rethinking things. The guy who designed this has way more experience than me but everyone has their preferences. Any input on functionality/limitations regarding thickness, tip, or overall design, specifically for processing game prior to butchering (so, field dressing, skinning, caping, deboning, quartering) are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have zero issues with the thickness...it capes and cleans well and easily penetrates the toughest of hides...it flat works and I don't have to be ginger with it worrying about snapping a blade.

I processed 4 deer and 3 hogs with mine in December, no issues from field dressing to skinning, deboning or quartering either. I really love this blade.

Really digging the wear on your’s.

I’ve finally handled one of these, bought one as a godparent gift for my son’s godfather and I REALLY like the feel of it. It and the CM6 are digging at me.

Late answer here. I use mine to field dress and debone several whitetail deer. I was worried about the thickness as well, but it is actually great. The spine glides over things you don’t want to poke yet no issue with initial cut in hide. Tip is strong and no worries about prying joints. No reduced slicing ability that I can tell - it gets wicked sharp. Something about it just works.

it works fine for most "small knife"/EDC tasks -- food prep, carving/whittling, etc...
