I'm seriously contemplating stripping my own Junglas too! Might be a job for the sand blaster!

I soaked in citrustrip then sanded it shiny before patina. I bet sandblasting would be the ****!

My son conned me into trading him my filed scales for his untouched stock set from his dark earth Junglas. I'm still trying to decide on what pattern I'll file them in.

I still can't believe you've let it be out of commission this long! That's the Junglas that sold me on getting mine!

Done! I'm super stoked at how this came out! I left the handles on and just blasted everything, blade, handles and hardware. This way, the coating is left under the handles will help prevent corrosion underneath. I love how it textured the handles to make them even more grippy with the file work. Time to lightly sand and apply a patina.

That came out stellar man! I honestly felt the same way about mine once I stripped it. It will definitely baton through wood MUCH better now from my experience.

Yeah, between this Junglas and my 1311, my large blades arsenal is pretty much covered!

You're going to cause me to track down one of those 1311's! That review you had given on the old forum had me looking at them pretty seriously, but the want for my last pre-hitlery semiautos won out.

I think that was a great call on leaving the entire knife intact and then blast away. The transitions look good from scales into the blade and certainly it should benefit from the coating under the handles.

    Here is your prototype.
