Who are you having make that sheath? I've got the SAO P226 and have held off on a weapon light due to limited sheath options. Great looking set up!
Paul has always done me right. He's made IWB models that accommodate my Smith M&P Compact and my Shield 45 with laser and light/laser weapon lights from Olight, Viridian and Crimson Trace. My Shield 45 has a green Viridian and Paul also puts the activation magnet in the holster as well. https://pjholster.com/
Traded in my Scout for a Great Lakes Firearms .350 Legend in an AR 15 platform. I was delayed by the Fed tho.
Paperwork from NCIS finally came through! Great Lakes Firearms AR in 350 Legend. Their shop is 30 minutes from my house! This will be my one and done rifle for hunting and home defense.
That is awesome! A 350 Legend will likely be my next AR build. I hate being held up with federal red tape. They are never in any kind of hurry. But you've got a great looking rifle set up. I bought that same exact mount to put glass on my 308 build last week. I'll be taking it to the range on Friday if weather permits.
Hey, thanks! It's definitely a great mount. Suuuper light, but it still feels like it's built like a tank. You'll have to post some pics!
So I spent the afternoon with an old friend at the range. This place was basically a playground for shooters. We put in some friendly competition on the handgun range but really it was day for the long guns. Got my .308 sighted in and was able to stretch shots on steel silhouettes out to 500 yds! This was my first time engaging targets past 100 yds so I was hooked. That ring is very gratifying and I was addicted after my first 200 yd "ping". I took along two Spike's Ar's (both 5.56) one 16" and an 11.5". The .308 is new to me and I built the 20" upper from scratch. It's my first big bore AR. Here's my range bag with my ginormous ESEE patch.
With magpul canted iron sights and a high capacity mag, the home defense portion of my 350 Legend deer rifle is complete.
@Justin Bohnett what is the length on that barrel? I know some guys get ocd on ballistics/barrel length, some just take the longest barrel that points good, and many really don't care. I'm one of those ocd guys that read numbers until they get dizzy, lol. Love the sights too. I've got a set on my Armalite with a Leupold mk 4. Magpul did a good job with those irons.
The barrel is 16 in. When we deer hunt (even in open fields) we're staying within 250 yds., so I'm not super worried about barrel length. Your 308. Is gorgeous, man. You long distance guys are nuts! Distance shooting seems like one hell of a rabbit hole. lol
