I was referring to the sheath in the picture you posted of the CR2.2. Looks like a leather pocket sheath?
@shaneadams90 I know y’all are still working on the 3.0 release and everything but last we heard you were still working on sheath options for the Cr 3.0. Has esee decided on a final sheath design for it and could you share it? Thanks. Ps if I missed a post on this earlier apologies.
from the guy that lives in the tropics with lots of humidity and rain Kydex rocks. All my field knives that come with leather sheaths get updated to Kydex. If I don’t mold starts to grow
Yup, I've got a box full of unused, high-quality leather sheaths. Wish I could choose between leather or kydex at new knife point-of-purchase but I understand completely why that isn't feasible for many knife makers.
I guess I need to try some more kydex sheaths but they all seem to carry pretty high for my taste. That's what I like about the leather sheaths is that they usually carry with the end of the handle at belt level so they stay pointed down and are more comfortable riding in a vehicle.
Agree completely. Take a look at the hybrid (kydex mount w/leather belt loop) drop-loop and dangler drop loops by Sagewood Gear. They've got models for both pancake or taco kydex sheaths. Been a game-changer for me.
I also Have sewn up my own drop loops with 1.5 inch nylon webbing and D loops from the hardware store. Stitching is ugly but strong. Don’t have one now since I like how the Esee 4 clip rides on my pack waist belt.
I'm still waiting on a CR3, but until then, I was given a 2.5 for my birthday! Ain't it cute? It got camera shy, so its big brudder held it for emotional support.
You won't regret it. Nothing to post yet....I have not see the final solution. The good news is that all our leather sheaths are low quality so you don't feel bad about tossing them in the can or making leather trinkets out of them. Hard pass....Jeff has cut me off and told me I'm giving away all the profits....blame Jeff.
