So I cleaned a barn out for a neighbor and I’m using those materials along with pallets to build a 14x16 shop. I’ll post some pics. Any tips or ideas of where to source materials would be awesome. I’m trying to do this for as little as possible from recycled material. So far I have about 60.00 in hardware and that is it.

Pallets you can often find behind grocery and large retailers. Often you can look on Craigslist for folks trying to offload lots of scrap wood as well. I’ve seen quite a few that are “free if you haul”.

Yeah that’s where I have found most of my materials as well, thank you for the reply. I will have to post some pics tonight. I’m terrible at getting progress pics.

Please ask for permission to take pallets.

They are worth money and there are legit companies that buy them from retailers and wholesalers.

We catch people constantly coming into our fenced and gated area trying to just take the pallets.

They are worth anywhere from $2 to $18 depending on what type they are.

Good advice!! I always call first and get permission. If something g isn’t mine even if it’s by the trash I always ask first. My daft used to pick up and sell pallets for companies. But yes always ask first.
