Mine too. Groomsmen requested forest green. Those look great too.

Clip&Carry (sister company of Statgear). The call it the SwissQlip. Definitely a game changer when it comes to carrying a SAK around.

All 3 of them are gifts and very special to me.

I love Alox, too bad that the colored ones are hard to find here, but I just found out a store in the Netherlands that has red, green and black so the collection might grow soon.
In the meantime I will be searching for the 2018 purple one.

I am against knife collecting and use all my blades but for me there is something special about these ones.

The silver one is a user, the gold and blue will open an occasional beer and slice some sausage.

I've been looking at the SAK Ranger knives. Specifically the 55 like Patrick carries. I've generally avoided a SAK because the blades don't lock and I've had a few instances in my life that could have ended very badly thanks to non-locking blades. Specifically a few Buck and Case Stockman style knives.

I like the look of the 55 and I think it would allow me to ditch my Gerber 600 for EDC with the exception of losing the pliers.

    What's everyone's thoughts on these?

These are the ex Wengers right? The Delemont 130 mm?
If yes - they are great, big blade and saw, large sculptured handle. However it's worth noting that due to how the blade is sharpened and how the ricasso/rocker is done - the actual cutting edge is the same as on a 111 mm SAK. The saw is roughly 1 cm longer than on a 111 mm. I really like the model with one hand opening blade, saw and phillips screwdriver instead of a corcscrew.

I'm not really sure. I just started looking into them. I was going to fondle a couple at SMKW when we're there next to see if I like them in person before buying.

Here's a link to one of them I was looking at.

I would prefer the version with the red handles so it's easier to spot if dropped though.

Here is a Swiss Army Knife wiki:

Regarding one being from historical Wanger or Victronox idk.

I have the old Adventurer and Cowboy models from the early 90’s. That is before the merger. They were made by Victorinox. In 2017 they discontinued the side lock. Maybe the new design is from a Wagner model?

check out the new soldier model. It’s nice.

Well, rewatched the video and PR actually carries an Outrider, not the Ranger. That's my bad. But I'm still looking at the Ranger even though the Outrider with the scissors would be pretty handy as well.

The Rangergrips are really comfortable in use, I am looking at them for a while, but for some reason I always end up with an alox :D

I like alox. It’s just so damn heavy in pocket.

They make and have made so many different “models” it’s mine boggling. I live near the North American warehouse. Every year, not sure if it will happen this year, they have 2 warehouse sales. One in the fall and one in the spring. The fall one is a big event. I usually get gifts. It’s lots of fun regardless.

Well I stopped in at SMKW this morning and left with a Red Rangergrip 78. I liked the feel of it compared to the Outrider and it's slightly thinner.

I sawed an old pine 1.25" branch in half once we got to our rental cabin and then shaved it down playing with the knife.

I really think I'm going to like this as a EDC and hiking blade. It will allow me to leave my Gerber 600 home more, even though I will miss the pliers, but gives me a nice one hand operation blade with some extra toys in a single package.

What good is the cork screw on a SAK? I just learned this neat trick from Coalcracker Bushcraft. I was impressed, and think you guys might be as well.

I keep a lot of Victorinox SAKs around. Probably my favorite for throwing in a pocket during a normal day, is the Compact. It's wonderful as far as two layer knives go. I'll typically throw my Camper Plus in the pocket for a day in the woods. I keep a Huntsman in a couple of the GHBs, where a thin profile isn't as important, and I'm less likely to compromise on the toolset.

I wish the Yeoman were something that was available for a reasonable price, as it would definitely replace the compact for an office carry. On my short list of must-haves is the Ranger Grip 79. I know most folks prefer the Phillips on the 78, but I love the corkscrew for its ability to unfurl pesky knots and to carry the micro screwdriver for glasses repair.

I'll try to snap some photos of the ever-growing collection soon.
