Picked up some mirin and ponzu sauce so I can do some more tuna steaks and fried rice tonight. Also got some wasabi sauce (not fresh unfortunately) for blue fin sashimi lunch. Salivating thinking about it.
that’s the last of my bluefin. Done in sesame oil, ginger, fresh garlic, soy sauce, and chili oil. Beyond good.. now to let my mercury levels go back to normal.
Not a lot of good reasons to get up at 5am on a Saturday if it’s not deer season. But starting a brisket is one.
Brisket is my favorite thing to cook besides smoked prime rib! I use Aaron Franklin’s recipe and it’s phenomenal every time.
Marinaded these bad boys a few days ago for 24 hours in a Rum concoction. Cooking up some caramelized onions with honey and a little shot of whiskey Cook the steak in cast iron with a little bit of butter. After letting the steak rest under some foil for about 8-10 minutes My wife made some legit Belgian Waffles last month from scratch. Best waffles I've ever had in my life. Batch of cowboy cookies I baked with the kids a few days ago.
Some killer ribs that my cousin and I smoked before I moved. We did a simple dry rub. After they smoked for hours and hours. You could slide the bones out of them so easily. Probably the juiciest and best tasting ribs I've ever had.
Didn’t have the pan I wanted for this babka. My dad owned a bakery for many years so I used his recipe. Came out tasting 10x better than it looked.
Smoked Boston butt for pulled pork tomorrow. I have somewhere else to go during the day so I cooked it tonight. Figure I'll throw it on the smoker for an hour at low temperature to get it back. But damn it turned out good.
