That’s a strong claim! Looking forward to getting and using it!

I’m a huge fan of Micarta... I like the idea of the contoured scales from TKC (the G10 on my Izzy 2 are great!) but worry about slippage... I assume that you love your scales?

The tkc scales are great. No doubt if they made them in micarta I’d get those. I’ve never had issues with slipping and I’ve put this and previous LS’s set up the same way through many paces.

I trust your judgment! I’ll see how the stock scales work for me and go from there! Thanks!

I like the look of the TKC scales and have thought about buying them on several occasions, but I just haven't been able to justify them for my situation. Despite the decidedly flat/slab sided appearance the default scales on the LS actually work well, and I have XL hands. They're not for everyone of course, but you might them perfectly acceptable.

My favorite as well! Best all purpose knife I own, hence the reason I have two of them.

I can say for a fullsize it is also my favorite. Profile, weight, balance, shape is excellent!

Got my LS in the mail earlier this week... holy crap I love this blade! I really have no excuse on why I held out so long... the ergonomics are great, the blade shape and grind damn near perfect. I etched, stripped and forced a patina using apple cider vinegar and stabbing it in a grapefruit for 12+ hours. Here’s the end result:

Welcome to the Laser Strike club!
It is my favorite Esee blade followed by the candiru. Great work on the etch and patina! Now it’s time to put is to work!

95EAB041-9ADD-49B0-822F-D73D9577C188.jpeg I should probably post the updated photo of my Laser Strike... It was posted in the candiru section for obvious reasons, lol.

For sure, this one took the spot as my truck knife. I started using my 5 as part of my fireplace tools set now that we have a fireplace in the new place. Between having two LS’s it’s probably my most used fixed blade for just about everything.

I really really want to see contoured micarta scales for this knife. It's the only knife in the esee lineup that I truly feel the scales are too blocky.

Agreed. I’m ok with the stock Micarta but contoured Micarta would totally be my preference. It’s one hell of a great knife.
