    Everyone, I have a confession....

I think I might have an Esee addiction...

I just ordered a Laser Strike with the legendary Skull and cross blades logo... I already have thought of the etching and making it my primary survival pack carry blade...

Also bought my wife her own Candiru...

    :p

Can’t go wrong with a Laser Strike!! I’ve been through all the Esee line several times over and still favor the LS over them all

Got my Laser Strike and more than happy with buying it! Saving the 4 for when my daughter gets older for her to use. Picture so far after 6 hour etch and then going to strip the powder coating on the blade and blacken. Love the knife! (shiny strip on the logo is from testing how deep the etch went) Candiru is so small next to the Laser Strike! Lol

Soaked the part of the blade that I wanted the coating removed in brake cleaner for 30 minutes and then took a razor blade to nicely scrape off the coating like butter. Just needs sanding and then a quick bath in hot apple cider vinegar, followed by a re sharpening of the blade:

Prepping the blade prior to the blackening process. (Currently in the process now as writing this post)

This is why we etch! Lol

i use citrus strip and it doesn’t really come off that easy. I’m going to have to try brake cleaner. Which one did you use?

Use jasco. Lowes sells it in an aresol can. Spray it on, wait 15 minutes and the coating will have completely bubbled off. Wipe it off with a rag of some kind. 99% of the coating will be cleaned off. You'll need to hit a few little spots that stayed on but not much.

The stuff that comes in the big drum at work. I dipped only the part I wanted to remove and scraped only what I wanted gone.

Had an Amazon gift certificate and was itching to use it (i.e. couldn’t wait for the CR3.0). Was torn between the JG3 and the JG5... thought about everything I like and every knife I have... so I chose a Laser Strike!
