Have several Esee blades, my newest and damn near close to saying my favorite of all:

it is the dark earth blade but the lighting show it quite a bit lighter than it is and the G10 coyote scales. Getting etch fluid this coming week to do the etch process.

How many hours did you leave the etch fluid on the laser etching and did you do multiple applications or just one sitting? Love how this looks!

On this one I think I did 5-7 hours total per side. I usually do about an hour at a time. No more than two.

one last thing, you say “No more than two.”

curious why that is? What would happen if left for three hours? I am also trying to figure out how much approx depth vs time.

Not sure what would happen at three hours. It’s probably fine I just remember not going much more than two hours. If I remember correctly I actually dipped this one in the etching solution since it’s so small. I just covered the blade with nail polish.

I think the summer temps are helping because this is after two hours (apply the ferric chloride for one hour and then taking a paper towel to blot the acid off, and applying another coating).

Thank you sir! Giving it 2 more hours (5 hours total, maybe stop at 4 hours?) and then switching to the other side.

Well I seem to be lost on something.... It appears that the etch process has not gotten any deeper... looks like after 6 hours of etching it is still at the same depth after only 3...

I saw on your first post that you are blotting the acid off with a paper towel. Are you using a toothbrush to scrub it between each session? I usually scrub it good while running water over it.
