Me first, me first Found some nice crappies through the ice and my son got a bonus brook trout. This was a different day but the first Muskie we have ever pulled through the ice.
This is from a recent ice fishing trip. Set up camp in the wall tent and then snowshoed 3 hours to the lake.
Looking to get out and fish for a few hours this weekend. Hopefully the smallies aren't too cold to bite.
Last day of the season and got three more. Should have been 4 but we won’t go there..... The old western knife took care of cleaning duty this time. Was great overall.
The crappie are staging in structure just out of the deep water. Shouldn’t be long until they are turned on. And the obligatory knife pic.
The crappie bite was pretty weak today. Caught quite a bit more but were small. But we got into red ears in a spot that was producing average size of about 9". Caught two over 11". On a 1/32 moon eye jig and Bobby garland crappie shooter soft bait. Which is a pretty damn big bait to be slamming gills and red ears. It's 1.5" long and about 3/4 wide.
