0212RDSSH__81491.jpg I gotta get another 110, my last one was the 21 dollar walmart version, did alot of torture testing with that and it held up just fine, they really are a beast. My next one will be one of the copper and clad exclusives, just so many to pick from. It's not a 110 but I really like this fixed 212 Ranger.

I shot 2 deer within 5 minutes with my muzzleloader so I field dressed both of them without sharpening it since it didn't need it for that little bit of work.

Then took them home and skinned and butchered them. I would sharpen it occasionally during the skinning. As much to get the fat buildup off the edge as much as sharpen it. Then cleaned and polished it all up after everything was in the freezer.

[IMG]I only killed one Spike but I used a Buck 110 with s30v steel . It did a good job
skinning and cutting up the meat.

Dang. I guess it doesnt take a fancy hard core knife to get a job done. Never considered a 110 as a user like that.

Jeff Randall gave me a peak behind the curtain of the knife industry over 5 lustrums ago. The bottom line is that 99% of the knife industry is completely unnecessary.

Being inside the knife industry, we sometimes think that all of this knowledge of steels is necessary, or even relevant. Go to the third world where they depend on a blade for their life or livelihood and they will be using a steel "too inferior" for us to consider. 1095 would be the pinnacle of luxury. S30v and so forth would be considered gold-plating a toilet. What's the point?

I field dressed a deer with a piece of flint once as a teenager to prove I could do it to some older guys at deer camp. After that any sharp knife is a luxury LoL! I’ve cleaned and butchered quite a few with my Buck 500 and I can’t imagine using a 110 is much different, great field folders.
