I thinks it an excellent promotional idea. I’ve never heard of anyone doing this. @Mike Perrin keeps knocking the ideas out of the park. by the way @Jeff Randall can you loan me out your truck. Just want to see how it does off the trail before I buy one.
And for all of you bastages that say I have no ESEE knives nor do I use them.....here is a pic of my 3 (got it for a great price of Alibaba ) that I used just this week to baton through this tree in my front yard...!!!
Interesting idea. With the lack of stores it’s difficult to make a decision sometimes. Maybe have an option if the person likes it and wants to keep it they just pay the balance of the “rental” charge and the price of the knife. This could cut down on your cost of shipping and sharpening.
@Jeff Randall I didn’t see it on the page or here yet but what is the duration you expect the person to use the loaner knife before they send it back in?
We do not sell knives direct so the loaner knives will not be for sale. We're letting people use the knives for 2 weeks before returning it.
Seems like a great idea as a lot of people can't afford to buy multiple models until they find what works best for them. Many are lucky to be able to even get a quarter of the lineup in hand at a retailer and have to rely on online pics or "send me free stuff and I'll make the same crap review video that 500 others have made" Youtube vids. I hope it works out for y'all and potential customers.
So is there some leniency as far as borrow time? Let's say someone is going on a camping trip for 3 weeks and wants to try a new blade?
I wasnt asking for me, just in general. I never do any of that outside stuff. 2 weeks is plenty of time to take glamour shots of the knives
....it's because I am a real outdoors manly man..... .....definitely a skill honed over many years...!!!!! I am going to grind the stump out today using nothing but an IzulaII !!! Pics later...!
This is one heck of a good idea. Not only does it help with a person getting a feel for a knife, like stated, (and there's actually a few I haven't held) but it should cut down on any returns to the dealers as well.
Brilliant! This displays the ultimate confidence in the product and the customer which will in turn lead customers to have confidence in the product and the company. My experience has been once I had an ESEE I realized I needed more ESEE's, no doubt many will have the same experience.
This program is like giving out free crack samples on the corner. "Hey, hey, I can send a super knife to your mailbox..."
