These two were delivered today. I don't think I've ever bought two knives at the same time, but I literally could not decide on one over the other. I was looking for an ESEE to fill the gap between my 3 and 6 and even after reading through this forum, watching videos, and reading reviews, I still couldn't choose one. Logically, I got both. LOL! I knew as soon as I put the 4HM in hand that it was a keeper. The handle is fantastic. I can already tell it will alternate with my 3 as my EDC fixed blade. The Laser Strike is something else. I love the blade design, it has nothing to do with that. The handle, though, is very different. It's not uncomfortable at all....just different. I rarely reject a knife outright based on initial impression so I'm going to carry and use the LS a while and give it a fair shot. It wouldn't be the first time I was unsure about a knife only to have it grow on me with use. I did take them out to the woods for a few minutes after opening just to play around. I was very impressed at how easily the LS handled the wood chores....shaving bark off limbs, feather sticks, and even some light chopping. I was glad because I really like the knife. I just need to get accustomed to the feel of the handle.
My new-to-me -5 after giving it a vinegar bath, a rub down with mineral oil, dying the scales with RIT and adding a lanyard. It's ready now for wood clobbering.
