My favorite hunting rifle is a steel receiver Henry .30-30 with ghost rings. Her name is Sarah, and she fits me like a glove and handles like a dream. If Henry ever comes out with a steel frame side gate, I'll pick one up, but until then Sarah reigns supreme. Not a big fan of current Winchesters- too expensive IMO for what they are. Ditto with Marlin, just don't feel right. Henry actions are nice and slick, they feel good and are made well for a fair price. Plus they're made here- I'm not a hardline USA made or nothing kind of guy, but it is nice to support American workers. My first rifle was a Minibolt from back when Henry made their stuff in Brooklyn, considerably before the move to Bayonne. I've got history with the mark, and they haven't let me down.
I have had good luck with mine. I have an old one also. I think my new one is just as good and finished better.
Yes, but was only marked Schrade U.S.A. I believe most of the true Schrades were made in Ellenville until their closing in 1986. https://www.dailyfreeman.com/news/w...cle_7d144de7-9d7d-5cba-8d33-05f5d7c74807.html
