The only and last time I ever wore crampons I nearly did my knee in on a glacier, stumbled swung my leg forward to get balance back and the crampon caught the trouser leg on the other side and I just fell like a tree into the ice.... I would be happy to manage the ropes at the top for you as you slide down...I will even do it without a patch (I am that kind of guy :D )...!

That's one scary looking ghost in the second to last pic.

It took us three times going out there to finally get an image of that ghost.

Strig, we're trying to get this rap of Angels set for the Fall of 2020. Have some pretty good interest so far from everyone. If we have a larger group we will probably just rappel it and be done since climbing takes so long. Here's a shot of the backside that we plan to rappel. Once we get dates nailed down I will let you know so you can plan on it. Will need a 24" long rack to do this. Rope weight is around 65 pounds so you will be locked up solid if you use a shorter rack.

We can drive back up through the Boulder Mountains close to Escalante and do some pretty serious off-roading on the way home.

Anyone planning to do the rappel needs to practice short drops with a long bar rack (24") and 60 pounds of weight on the end of the rope. On top of Angels is no place to wonder if you're going to be able to descend with that much rope weight.

This should be a cool rappel.
