Shot a buck yesterday evening. Blood trail went cold. Searched over two hours trying to find it. Found it today but it had already been some animals dinner and breakfast. First time I lost one. Hated not being able to bring home the meat. It’s a decent 7 Pointer.
Man, I’ve never had a buck try to bury himself to hide from a hunter! No wonder you could find him-that dude is smart!
Never gonna forget my pull rope at home ever again. The carabiner with the extra loop insures that I won’t damage any finish on my weapons. The string is the only thing touching once there’s weight on the line. Was $12 total for me to set up both of my climbers this way. I did about 50’ of string on each one so I can have extra if I ever need it.
The rut is near peak now in NEPA. I can actually smell it. Saw two more nice bucks on the dog walk this morning.
Same here. I had a little buck come RUNNING in to my stand 2 days ago. Tonight is the night I smoke a monster I hope. Cold, windy, full rut.. they have to move to eat.
Let this fat nanny doe have it with a Rage chisel tip earlier this afternoon. Quartering away at 20yds 20’ under me. The wound that the Rage causes is impressive.
Yep... these deer my boy has been shooting with the bow have dropped so quick, sooner than any rifle shot I've seen.
So far I've seen a raccoon bigger than my dog, a bunny, a squirrel, and loads of birds.....but not a deer. Lots of tracks but no fur.
Thanks. I was hoping to get a shot at this guy below but my fingers were numb and my toes were starting to hurt. I wasn’t prepared for 25 degrees. 35mph winds were killing me. She came out and I let her walk the first time. I said aloud “it’s ******* cold, if you come back in I’m shooting you”. As soon as I said it she turned around at 50yds and started heading back my way.
Haven't eaten one personally, but I know people who do. They say when cooked right it's some of the best pork you'll ever eat guess that means they don't taste like chicken
