I wanted a knife that would help me bridge a gap between a big knife (good chopper but too slow for light brush) and a short machete (swift but not enough heft to chop efficiently). Hopefully this does it. It's 12" O1 blade, 3/16 ffg with a distal taper. Handle should be long enough to provide good balance. It comes with T.M.Hunt workmanship and @Allen Morrison sheath. I mean does it get any better? Hoping to get it in time for my next trip. Fingers crossed.

That needs to be a production knife. Haven't handled it yet but from the looks of it it's a real using knife. Man, you are asking for more punishment? Another Field Survival? You're nuts.
A little time in the woods with bugs and leeches with no food or sleep ain't never hurt nobody If you want to, I can send it to you to check it out. I designed it with O1/1095 in mind cause I wasn't sure who was gonna make it, but I knew they were the most common and similar steels.
Absolutely love the design. Good work! You will not be disappointed with Todd's work. I have spent years testing his blades and never had a failure. There is a reason folks used to send blades to him for HT. He has mastered O1 and CPM154. He and @Allen Morrison are top notch fellers. This was one of his one off Bolos. Even with the pommel beak it still was comfortable.
I remember that knife being in the pass-around. It was one of the reasons I wanted Todd to make my prototype.
Mike and I both are interested in it. When you get a chance I'd like to put my hands on it. May be something we're interested in doing on a production scale. We like big knives that are well thought out. This one looks to be just that.
Hahaha, that's what I called it. But I'm guessing if it becomes a production knife, they'd give it a more marketable name.
Can't go wrong with Todd's craftsmanship. He does outstanding work. Built like a tank. I have a Hornet, and a custom Yuma he gifted me with a big handle. I've also used Erik's M18. All incredible knives.
I've only had one of his smaller knives, but I've done my homework. Everybody is always raving about his knives, big or small. That's why I went to him. You can see his touch in the design, the signature slanted ricasso, the handle lines. I wanted the blade to be something between a short machete and Junglas. The closest I got to it was when @FortyTwoBlades made me a FFG Condor Jungolo. At that time, Todd was already working on my knife. I've been using that Jungolo, and I like how it performs. The Paycheck will just have a better handle, better steel, and a straighter thinner blade. I'll put it through its paces on the upcoming trip.
