Just ordered a black ESEE 6 with ORANGE TKC scales. No sheath. $106 shipped was unbeatable for me since I have a leather sheath for it already.
New Maratac MI-6 watch band, glow in the dark zipper pulls, a really sweet ano 1x4 screwdriver and a kubotan. Btw, if you're not aware of County Comm, it's a dangerous place for your pocketbook. While the stock rosewood grips on the P229 ASE are durn purty, they were just a little too thick for my liking. Just picked up some Hogue G-10s. Much more better.
Quest for the "perfect" AIWB option for the P938 continues. New Crossbreed. And a Real Steel "Black Cat" neck knife. Something about this design really intrigued me, and it's cheap enough that why the heck not:
custom machined double shoulder 15mm Thru Axle for the trekking cart. Will be in my mitts next week. also 2 new Park 22mm cone wrenches
For whatever reason they don’t have a pic of the front of the house. Anyway, closing this Thursday at 11am. It’s official fellas. I bought a big ass backyard lol
I generally do as well. I have a JM Custom AIWB for my Sig P229 and really like it. I find that especially in summer months, the P229 can be hard to conceal, and the JM does a great job of keeping it tucked in close. I've pondered getting one for my P938 as well...
oooh i like that. kiradashi style, but more defense/utility.... also like their Observer fixed blade.
As a follow-up, I've been wearing the Crossbreed for the last 24 hours and it's getting sent back. My suspicions about the design turned out to be accurate, and I let myself get swayed by good reviews in spite of what I could see as an obvious design flaw: With one clip positioned so far to one side of the holster, the whole holster tends to pivot around the clip when you draw as it meets retention resistance. After repeated practice with this holster (and plenty of experience with other AIWB options and carry), I could not get a reliably clean draw. Sometimes it would draw fine, and other times, as the whole holster would pivot upon drawing, the pistol would lock up and not come out at all because the orientation had changed. And sometimes when this happened, the entire holster came off the belt with the pistol still inserted (I'm wearing a 5.11 Trainer belt). Not good. I'm back to using my Concealment Express with a modified foam wedge. But one of these days I'll likely be putting another order in with JM.
Yes it is a big commitment and does come at a cost. When I bought the current place I felt like I has eaten glass for the first couple of years but now realise it was the best thing I did. To explain, I had till them NEVER had any level of debt that I could not clear over a weekend (selling some gear etc) if I was in a bind, I bought my first house (still have it) for cash at 17 and when I moved to the city renting that place paid my rent here (albeit in small apartments and share places). All my cars I paid for in $$s. But sadly debt is to a degree a necessary evil. I will have paid for the current place in a few years (30yr loan paid out in around 17) and will sleep much easier still. If the opportunity to move back bush presents the house here would fund something really nice on acres so I see the advantages now. There is something nice about it being "yours" as well, changes, upgrades even when some damage happens, the two of you have the autonomy about how it is managed. I like that !
