I know there used to be a thread on here but my half arsed attempt to find it was unsuccessful so..... Who has instagram on here? I just started a new one for edc @everydaycaleb And my personal that I post mostly my photography @calebklyne
nope. Owned and operated by Zuckerberg / Cambridge Analytical and Co. Already deleted my facebook account
@frosty_the_viking I have a total of two posts on there at the moment. I generally don't care for social media.
I'm considering starting one. I'm in that weird spot where my FB is largely inactive, other than just to talk to people who don't have any other ways to reach them. So I'm torn between deleting everything I can, or redirecting what I have and expanding out towards the goal of building a social media presence. I'm sure @shaneadams90 could expound on the virtues of the latter.
I don't love social media the way most people use it. I deleted my other social media accounts a while back. I still have IG, though. I only use it to post pics of my outdoor/bushcraft/camping/hiking/edc/fishing hobbies and keep up with some other people that are like-minded. I also like following small cottage industries that make quality gear. I keep it semi-anonymous, don't post anything personal. A link to my profile is in my signature.
I guess it depends on what your end goal is....If you want to keep up with Friends and Family then FB is viable....if I had my druthers I'd delete my personal account and go on my way....I have to have a personal account to manage our (ESEE/RAT) page....so...that's out. I use my personal page on FB very little.... IG I actually enjoy bc I am interested in photography and there is less BS to it....less politics and easier to add/remove people without issues.... Developing any kind of social media presence now (from start) is tough simply bc it's a deep pool and hard to stand out. For us, my primary goal was to provide our customers with the most interactive experience possible. I try to be VERY responsive to any and all customer interactions on FB/IG/YouTube/ and VERO...at this point I've become a victim of my own success. I field WAY more questions and customer interactions via IG, FB, and YT than thru email...so that's good. My secondary purpose is to provide customers with a curated image....basically showing out customers WHO we are and what we are about.....
I use Facebook for political ranting and for ease of communicating with my huge family. I am using Instagram more lately. I can post a picture, add a comment a let it go. Could be family, the cat, knives, whatever. It’s easier and way less drama.
