The muzzle cap, front sight, rails, rear sight, cartridge holder, and buttstock are plastic.

I removed the rails and did a paracord wrap, little to no weight is saved by dropping rails.

It is currently available so far as i understand is 22lr, 22mag, 17hmr, and soon 17wsm.

    I love this little rifle.

The crickets are cool, but reloading is more tedious, lop os shorter and less comfortable, and i dont trust logevity to be as long as the little badger.

With that being said, they are cool, ill prob def get the kid one.

So because of this thread I checked them out. I have the Henry A-7 survival rifle, which one is better?

    Better is always subjective.
The ar7 packs down shorter, floats, and is semi auto.
The badger is smaller, and is single shot, so really nothing to go wrong there. Its also available in many calibers.

Both have benefits. I have the little badger.

Although I agree that better is a qualitative expression you can bring quantitative data to it. So with the purpose of the rifle you want rugged, lightweight, reliable, accurate, and probably packable. So...

    Rugged, who wins?
Lightweight I think goes to the badger (.22 vs .22)
Reliable- Henry is great but like you said lots of moving parts, who wins?
Accurate- never shot the badger but the Henry you have to get used to with the offset sight
    Packable kinda a tie right?
Then you add in the other available calibers on the badger (even a double barrel) and the caliber adapter tubes available it gets interesting....

Sounds like I’m trying to justify another firearm lol

I will never discourage another firearm!

    Lol

The chiappa has an awfully nice trigger, and its so simple.

I havent shot or carried an ar7.

For a survival rifle if you had the space, the ar7 would probably be the better bet, at least short term. I assume it would need some lubing and cleaning at some point.

I reckon the badger could go on forever.

I also like the look of tje badger mkre... but maybe thats such a dumb thing to mention that i shouldnt.

But i DO LOVE Henry. Merica!
