So from a survival aspect I decided to buy a Stoeger double barrel coach gun. It’s nothing fancy but 12 ga gets the job done. I’m thinking of a few short lane arms caliber tubes to shoot .22 etc... my biggest issue that I have with all firearms is holding it. My left hand doesn’t work like it should and shooting long guns can be problematic. Any suggestion for a front grip on a double barrel? Thanks

you could add a strap similar to this.

That might be an idea, I’ve never tried a moss berg with the strap so I dunno. My AR has a magpul vertical grip I like and my 870 I put an ATI pump pistol grip on. The strap would be simple. The problem is my wrist doesn’t move like it should and turning to grip is painful and I can’t turn all the way. I’ll rig up some paracord to see the strap.

I will figure something to try like the strap, I like the versatility with the adapters just need comfort. I did kill a ground hog with it yesterday. Shoots and shoulders nice. I’m trying to think how I can hold the strap more to come

I love the shell carrier from condor, the loops Velcro off and two more fit in an AR mag pouch. Love it

There are some dudes on here that could make a leather strap and wood screws with washers...problem solved...

That is probably where I would start, for example this is the most my wrist bends...

I’m not sure if the basic loop like the moss berg would work... definitely gonna try though.

I know it may take away from the esthetics of the wooden forend, but seeing the issue you have with limited wrist movement I thought maybe you could add a small length of picitinny rail and use a Magpul angled foregrip.

Your pics had me craving pecans in my sleep btw lol!

    Beautiful shotgun!

Lol yes my plan worked perfectly with the pecans! Anyway thank you, it’s a great shotgun for the money. I have a few things I want to do to it to make the break action a little smoother but I’ll get there on those. The rail is a good idea and I could probably add a sling mount that way. It would change the aesthetics but I don’t mind that as much. stoeger actually sells a tactical version that’s all black and has rails called the double defense .

Maybe agh the rail how it is here? I’m not a gunsmith, it might also be too far forwar to mount to the barrels.

That's the version I'd seen before. My thoughts were putting the rail either in front of or behind the takedown spot on the forend. I'd think an AFG on that barrel rail would get a bit hot if you shoot a bunch of rounds through it.

Stoeger's got some great value shotguns. If and when I get another shotgun I want their 12ga M3500, it's the Benelli Super Black Eagle.

Have you ever seen an angled fore grip? I have one on an AR of mine...you could bold some pic rail to the wood and this to it...does that angle match your range of mobility?

That's exactly what I was thinking!

Same one I've got for my AR's.

Could you fabricate a fore grip out of wood similar to the existing fore end? Kind of a rounded elongated knob bolted to the existing fore end where it’s comfortable?

Great minds think alike....given the angle of the stock hanodguard on the Coach gun....the angle on the AFG will be even steeper than usual on an AR and may get close to matching the range of motion...

They are amazing shotguns for the value. I don’t plan on putting a lot of rounds through quickly. It is just a double barrel after all ;) mostly just hunting with it. If I don’t get it in two then it’s gone before I reload lol

I tried one on my AR and it helped but not enough. The vertical foregrip is probably best. In addition to range of mobility I have no grip strength with the index and middle fingers they do not bend

That is something to think about... would keep the aesthetics in place...
