I would’ve loved to fit my Tac-14 but there was just absolutely no way. Eventually I’ll get a CaseCruzer 3n3. Until then, this will do just fine for a travel companion or even a basic SHTF case. If I pair this with whatever I’m carrying plus a backpack I’m fully set for whatever I could possibly handle.

You could maybe cut in a space for the shotgun in the top and have a thin layer of foam sandwiched between to protect them.

That would actually work but as of now there is probably about $7000 in that case that I don’t wanna damage.

Thank you. I did it with an ESEE kitchen knife so it’s a little rough up close but the fit is spot-on.

I’ve been using pelicans/storm cases for 20 years and if I needed to count on a case that’s where I would put my money. But going to and from the range or typical hunting trips they are WAY over kill for my needs so I figured I would try this $25 case for the hell of it.

I've seen those at Sams and they seem like a damn good deal. I think they were in the $45-$50 range when I saw them though. I'll have to check the local store because if they're $25 I'll buy one just for ****s and giggles.

Speaking on Pelicans. I have a Pelican 1750 that's empty. No foam at all. My plan is to buy the 3 inserts for it eventually, but I need to use it this weekend. I'm picking up a new rifle as my first stop of the day but we're going to be out all day hauling the horse trailer a few hours south and then back up. I don't want the rifle being bumped around the cab of the truck with the kids the whole time. Is there anything I can use to stuff around the rifle in the empty 1750 for the mean time just so it's protected?

Honestly I wouldn’t buy the foam unless you are really flying a lot with it or going to be really abusing it.

Pick up a drag bag from midway. They are not as good as the eberlestock or tac ops or old school eagle drag bags but they are a good buy. The drag bag will fit right inside the pelican. Not you have serious impact resistance and waterproof, but you also have everything still in a lighter more portable set up.

Eberlestock actual sells it this way as a combo.

Another option is go to JoAnn fabrics. They almost always have a 50% or 35% off coupon floating around and you can get open cell dense foam there.

Harbor freight is also selling this Knick off pelicans In A few sizes under the name Apache
