Update, I filled the lighter a month ago to the date and I've played around with it daily whether I needed to light a fire or not. It still makes a small flame that burns out in a few seconds. To be useable and practical I'll refill it, but I'm pretty impressed with the longevity.
So Patrick and I have some experience with these lighters...Be sure to fill the BOTTOM cap only twice...I passed those directions onto @Patrick Rollins and evidently what he heard me say was FILL IT SLAP FULL THEN ADD SOME MORE! Then he gave it to the hand that writes the checks and tried to set @Jeff Randall on fire.....its a great lighter but be sure to not overfill.....it seals up very tight and is well made...No pics now as it is in my kit bag out in the truck but I will post some soon!
I need some real world tests to convince me to get one Test 1 as I said earlier how many days between refills at 1 1/2 - 2 packs a day? Test 2 will it light a coffin nail at 75+mph on a motorcycle? @ $40.+ That'd buy alotta bics
Hello I’m new to the forum. I bought one in October after being a long time zippo guy. I overfilled it really bad and learned about the 2 cap rule later. I use it everyday for a minute or two. Trying to do a long range test. It lasted 3 months before a refill. Much better than my zippo. Honestly I love exotac and their gear almost as much as my ESEE knives. This lighter is top knotch. Two I don’t think a bic will light your cig at 75 so buy a titan light and enjoy.
Yes for filling. You unscrew a cap from the bottom and there is cotton packing like a zippo. Don’t just fill because the extreme lack of evaporation means it’s over filled for awhile. So you fill the cap you take off twice for the right amount of fluid. It comes with its own measuring cup. Now that’s fancy. It’s actually mention above in this post with people lighting themselves on fire from overfill.
