I figure I'll know a lot more after the bushcraft class about what I can do. My mind and body don't always have the same definition of "doable" anymore.

If you can swing it you should try to do this year, I think it's the last 5 day class, next year is 3 day.

Eh...work would be an issue in October for 5 days. Otherwise I'd like to do that one. The March class aligns better with spring break. After that many months of the miscreants, I'll be ready to go Woods runner.
(I teach in a behavioral health hospital on the child and adolescent wing.)

My son is going to check his patrol schedule and try to take leave so he can attend class with me. Whoo-hoo!

Since I'm one of those type that don't like to fly by the seat of my ample pants, which hotels are recommended around the farm area?

I'm going to the one day class in January as a break in period, so a hotel for Friday and Saturday night is in my pre plan notebook.

I'm not a party or drinking person, just a safe, clean room at a reasonable rate.

It should..take a Cav scout, make him hang out with Rangers,, and throw in a dose of joint cross training with a British Recce group.

I all kinds of screwed up...

When I stay at Comfort Suites, I STAY at the Comfort Suites.

I do go out for Mexican or Cracker Barrel. If I am feeling really adventurous, I take in the ample salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays. But I don't do heavy things. Or woodland things. Or wet things. Or cold things.

Actually considering tent camping up the road a ways by the river at some campground. $15 per night with electric.

There’s free camping at the farm, just bring a battery pack for phones.
