Where were you today?

That place looks very cool, like it's Spring out there. We have a big heat wave and are pretty much trapped under the A/C.

 

Up in the San Francisco Peaks Wilderness. Didn’t summit Mt. Humphreys (tallest point in AZ), but mostly just hung out and got out of the desert heat.

 

Douglas Falls and some old coke ovens from the coal mining days, near Thomas, WV. Monongahela National Forest.

 

With a hat like that you almost don't need a tent.

 

Well, last night, I clumsily banged into a piece of furniture. . . and, I broke a toe [yeah, I am "That Guy". . .the one what shouldn't ought walk and chew gum at the same time, lol].

Anyhow, so, this morning I went for a walk and soaked my feet in the stream for about an hour and carved on a Try Stick and *poof* pain gone. Mother Nature is the best nurse. Great Hospital too. . . shady, cool, 77f, sunny. . . life is great!

 

Well I was all over Idaho and a bit of Utah over the last month (would have posted stuff daily but wow I kept busy). I’ll share bits daily until it’s up! First Boulder Utah.

This weekend I was up in Canaan Valley, Davis, WV area doing some hiking. Parts of the mountain the leaves were in peak colors.

This was from yesterday. Went for a short hike in a local park.
Still a lot of green on those trees. Should be near peak color change here in NE Ohio.

Was a bit ago, but hiked up to a mountain lake outside McCall ID.

 

Went hunting in V.A. today on opening day of muzzleloader. Saw ten does no bucks.

 

Jealous of all y'all's terrain (for looking at, not hiking up it God forbid).
Terrain in the Mississippi delta is boring.

 

This weekend took a hiking trip to New River Gorge National Park, WV.
First stopped at Babcock State Park


Hiked down to the Kaymoor Mine Site.



Continued on down to the River where they used to load the coal onto the trains. 821 steps, then back up.
This is about halfway.


May or may have not seen a Sasquatch.
