Took about 30 minutes and required a bit of careful batonning to get some of the pieces to break out. Left out a couple of notches but I ran out of stick.
With a machete ill give you 100000 points. Nice work! Was that something youve done before? Never used a big knife here.
I've done a few things, pot hooks and such. This particular machete is really good steel, like knife sharp so that helps. You just slow down and go at a very deliberate speed.
Small stick -small knife try stick. The wood pile is running low so I did a mini stick. It was harder then I expected.
So I actually cut this oak sapling last Oct, before deer season. It's been curing in my garage since then, I just got it down to start turning in into a walking staff. My thought was it would be good practice on slow sortof precision work. Taking off tiny chips and slivers with a chete takes a little more focus.
